ACCOMPANIST

PLAYING FOR INDOOR AND OUTDOOR CALLBACKS IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE ACCOMPANIST. 

THE ACCOMPANIST ATTENDS REHEARSAL AT THE DISCRETION OF THE SCHEDULE SET BY THE DIRECTING TEAM.

IF THE SHOW IS NOT TRACKED, THE ACCOMPANIST WILL PLAY IN THE ORCHESTRA/BAND FOR ALL PERFORMANCES.

PLEASE READ REHEARSAL/PERFORMANCE REPORTS 
IMMEDIATELY AND REPLY ALL WITH ANSWERS PROMPTLY

Once you have signed on to the show

• Review the score and discuss questions or concerns with the Music Director.

• Rehearsal space comes with an upright piano.

• Accept SharePoint access from TIP staff.  SharePoint is the only file share product that can be used due to county IT restrictions.

• Complete Volunteer with Stipend paperwork in a timely manner.

Auditions/Call Backs

• INDOOR: accompany the auditionees music selection.

• OUTDOOR: The accompanist is not needed for auditions.

• Accompany all auditionees at callbacks.

Pre-Rehearsal

• Review rehearsal schedule with Music Director.

• Review the score as needed to feel confident in the music.

• Attend Production Meetings and other meetings as needed.

Rehearsals

• Accompany rehearsals as determined by the Music Director.

Tech Week

• Attend all tech and dress rehearsals following the provided schedule. 

  • If your show is tracked, the accompanist may be needed for a portion of the Sunday move in.  Coordinate with Music Director for timing.

• Work with directing team, TIP staff, and vendors to ensure all elements of production are in place and respectfully communicate concerns and changes in production meetings following tech rehearsals.

Performances

• Perform in the orchestra/pit and follow schedule set by the Conductor.

Strike

• No duties.

Post Show

• No duties.
