CONDUCTOR
AS THE CONDUCTOR, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ASSEMBLING, REHEARSING AND CONDUCTING THE ORCHESTRA

Once you have signed on to the show

Read the script (if you haven’t already) and discuss needs with Director and SM.

Accept SharePoint access from TIP staff. SharePoint is the only file share product that can be used due to county IT restrictions.

Complete Volunteer with Stipend paperwork in a timely manner
Auditions/Call Backs

No duties unless requested by stage management.
Pre-Rehearsal

Read the script.

Assemble pit members – please note they are required to attend all tech rehearsals and performances beginning Monday evening of tech and all performances to provide the best opportunity for sound to mic the show.

Send orchestra book needs to production stage manager at least 3 weeks before first rehearsal.
Rehearsals

Ensure that all orchestra members sign a volunteer hold harmless form before beginning rehearsals.

Arrange for rehearsal space with TIP staff, create schedule, and rehearse music with orchestra. Please ask orchestra members to bring their own music stand for rehearsals. There are not stands available for use at an orchestra/band rehearsal at the AHC.

Schedule sitz probe/s with stage management prior to the designer run.
Tech Week

Attend all tech and dress rehearsals following the provided schedule.

Work with directing team, TIP staff, and vendors to ensure all elements of production are in place and respectfully communicate concerns and changes in production meetings following tech rehearsals.

Orchestra/band set-up time should be coordinated through SM

OUTDOOR: Theatre in the Park will provide one set of keyboard and amp once you are at the park.

OUTDOOR: Orchestra pit set-up (chairs and music stands) is the responsibility of the orchestra members. The sound department will set up mics and electrical outlets before the orchestra call time.
Show Weeks

Attend all performances.

OUTDOOR: Instruments requiring set up in the pit (piano, drums, etc . . . ) must be set up by 8pm.

OUTDOOR: There is no entrance or exit from the pit during a preshow performance.

OUTDOOR: All orchestra members will return to the pit immediately following the preshow or 8:20 on non-preshow performances.
Strike
-
Collect all orchestra books from pit members and turn in to stage manager immediately following the final performance.
